Dot radius encodes tone with area-true sqrt mapping, dots merge into rich solids with authentic white-diamond shadow sparkle, and an optional second ink screen at a moire-safe angle adds a duotone fringe with real overprint. Pigment-aware blending supports both deep-ink-on-warm-paper and luminous-dots-on-dark-stock schemes. With an image URL it becomes the timeless newspaper-print portrait. Cursor acts as a soft ink-press bloom.
The ink colors: first is the primary ink that forms the main halftone masses, second is the duotone accent ink printed on a second screen. Inks darker than the paper multiply through it like real print; inks lighter than the paper glow over it like neon screenprint on dark stock. One color = classic mono screening.
The paper stock color. Warm creams and off-whites give the editorial riso-print look; near-black stock flips the effect into luminous glow-dot screening (pair with bright inks).
Paper opacity: 1 = opaque printed sheet, 0 = only the ink dots render and the host section shows through between them.
Animation pace of the ink field. Higher = visibly churning, swirling ink masses; lower = a near-still print that breathes almost imperceptibly.
Halftone dot size (resolution-aware). Higher = chunky pop-art dots you can count; lower = fine newsprint screening that reads as smooth tone from a distance.
Rotation of the primary dot grid in degrees. 45 is the classic single-ink newspaper angle; 15 pairs with a 75-degree duotone screen for moire-free overlay.
Rotation of the secondary ink's dot grid. Keep it 30-60 degrees away from screen-angle (15/75 is the print-shop standard) to avoid moire interference patterns.
Strength of the second ink. Higher = a bold warm fringe haloing the primary masses (and rich midtones on photos); 0 = pure single-ink monotone print.
Tonal punch of the field or photo. Higher = stark solid-ink cores jumping off clean paper; lower = gentle gray-on-gray dot gradients.
Zoom of the procedural ink field. Higher = many small busy ink clouds; lower = one vast slow-sweeping tonal form across the frame.
Direction in degrees the ink field is stretched and drifts along, giving the composition its diagonal sweep. Ignored when an image is set.
Strength of the drifting luminous core that anchors the composition. Higher = a bold dense focal ink mass wandering the frame; lower = even, texture-only screening.
Paper fiber texture and ink press mottle. Higher = tactile handmade-print stock with mottled solids; 0 = perfectly clean digital sheet.
Optional https photo URL. When set, the screen halftones the photo's luminance instead of the procedural field — the classic newspaper-print portrait. Tone polarity auto-flips on dark stock so photos stay positive.
Cursor ink-press strength. Higher = a soft gaussian bloom of swelling dots follows the pointer like ink pressed into paper, fading back to the exact ambient print when idle; 0 = no interaction.
